The recent cold snap has dropped water temperatures into the low 40F range. Stripers are feeding on bait in open water, mainly in relation to the 2 hot water discharges. Ramsey Crk has been productive on the south end, and the main river channel within a mile either side of the Hwy 150 bridge has also been active. Look for McCrary Crk to come more into play with the southwesterly winds associated with this week's warming trend. Live trout and shiners are available at local bait shops, and they work fine for stripers, bass and even perch. These species can also be found near the bottom in cold, deep water(50-75ft) away from the hot hole effect in the mouths of main creek channels. Lead jigging spoons are effective on these fish. Always keep a "throwing rod" rigged with a bucktail or other top water favorite in case surface feeding action presents itself.
